Udaipur in summer? Yes, it's hot, but it's also surprisingly magical if you know where to go.
Plan sightseeing for 8 am and late afternoon, and rest from noon to 4 pm. Museums, cafés and a long thali lunch fill the hot hours well.
Evenings at Fateh Sagar catch the lake breeze, and Sajjangarh sits cooler than the city below. Drink plenty of water, carry a cap and a cotton scarf, and try a chilled chaas or kesar lassi from any Old City sweet shop.
